This is a movement class where parents can spend time with their toddler as they explore a dance class for the first time. We offer a caring, supportive and fun environment for parents to connect with their tots and to other parents. Activities using songs, scarves and imagination help to develop listening and movement skills. As the program progresses through the school year, the children become more independent. By the end of the year most are ready to move in to a program where their caregiver is not present.
This class is for young children with their caregiver. Each session is approx. 8 weeks. Families use an At-Home-Materials-Kit. We also include Kindermusik ABC Music and Me in our Early Childhood Arts Program.
Our Early Childhood Arts Program provides a safe and creative learning environment for your 3-5 year old. The program includes developmentally appropriate activities that incorporate the arts-dance, music, drama and fine art-into each child’s life. ECAP is designed to develop each child’s self esteem and confidence, while giving him or her a love of learning and of the arts! Each day the students engage in activities that promote their creative, physical and social-emotional development, as well as their cognitive language skills. Activities will relate to theme of the week, which are drawn from the seasons, literature, music, world cultures, theater, nature and more. Enrollment is 9:00-11:45 am on Tuesday & Thursday OR Monday & Wednesday.
Our young ballet student is introduced in these classes to the joy of dance and movement through age appropriate stretching to begin class, introduction to French ballet terms and creative expression through dance/storytelling and tempo, shapes and speed of movement. If a Ballet/Tap combination class, then approximately a third of each class is an introduction to Tap dance including basic rhythm patterns. The Academy adds a Tot Ballet class in January each year for dancers turning 3 mid-year!
